Visqueux Photographs

2004 - 2005

A series of medium format photographs taken from an aerial perspective using printed on diabond.

The Visqueux photographs are ambiguous images of rotting fertiliser bags, glistening plastic and post-agricultural detritus, intended to both entice and repel the viewer. They can be read as flesh, skin, hair, genitals or maps of a dysfunctional ecosystem and were seen by Deirdre as a way of troubling often-repeated arguments around the treatment of nature and culture as if they were two separate domains.
