Surfacing

2003 - 2004

A body of paintings, photographs and material objects that reflect upon natural resource management and water quality in the West of Ireland.

Surfacing was a way of reflecting on water quality in North Clare through paintings, photographs and material assemblages made from the algal growth, a significant issue in the region from 2003 – 2006. Works from the series including the large scale photographic print of Lake Inchequin, were exhibited at X-PO just 3 Km from the lake and included photographic images and paintings of eutrophication of the lake water.
