Joy #5: ‘a (sort of) retrospective exhibition’ (2026) by Deirdre O’Mahony consisting of an interview, found objects, artworks’ traces, ephemera and sounds

2026

Joy #5 is a (sort of) retrospective exhibition curated by Sebastian Cichocki, consisting of an interview, found objects, traces of artworks, ephemera and sounds gleaned from the artist’s archive to show the evidence of processes that go beyond the conventions of art-making. Ultimately, what constitutes an exhibition? What should be preserved? How can you be truthful to yourself and to stories from tormented lands?…’

The exhibition serves as a visual footnote to the extended text, ‘Land Art as Useful Art: Sebastian Cichocki in Conversation with Deirdre O’Mahony’, published in two chapters by L’Internationale Online.
