This exhibition showcases a selection of works made in the 1990s. An unstretched, eyeleted canvas, Bloodstreams (1995), two works from the Wrap (1998-2000) series and Erratics (1995 – 1996). These paintings respond directly to the landscape of the Burren in County Clare, and the social and political context of events unfolding there at the time.
Accompanying the paintings is a newly-commissioned film in which O’Mahony discusses the background and context of making the works, and and a responsive text by artist Laura Fitzgerald.
In addition, a publication of the same name has been reprinted in cooperation with Askeaton Contemporary Arts.
